Hey hey! 🙂 My name’s Kimberly (or momomomomom… 😛 ). In any case, I’m so glad y’all stopped on by today.
I’m a ginger who blogs… and I just so happen to also be a mom, a wife, a nurse, a writer, a “recovering” overachiever, and a whole lot more. This is where I write about what works in life… and what fails on epic proportions. Because let’s face it… life is quite the adventure! And with so many things to do, there’s opportunities everywhere to succeed… or crash and burn trying. But the point is that we tried, isn’t it?
I’m a Southwest gal, born and raised. I know that being from Arizona doesn’t exactly ‘splain the constant “y’all” and its plural”all y’all”-ing. But I did live in the beautiful state of South Carolina for a couple of years… and some of my sisters still live there. So you can take the ginger out of the South, but you can’t pry the South out of the ginger.
These days, I’m living with my husband and kids in the beautiful state of Utah.
- No, I’m not a skier – or a snowboarder. Sledding and snowshoeing and sleeping is more my style.
- Yes, I’m a Mormon. I’ll gladly answer any questions you’ve got. Unless it’s skiing related, then you’re on your own.
If I had free time, I’d use it to clean up the house or read or catch up on the last 6-10 years’ worth of sleep, shows, and snacks. But since “mom” and “free time” don’t coexist, I spend my time playing with my kids, asking my kids to unload the dishwasher so I don’t have to, and trying to keep up with all of the projects we’ve got going on.
Instead, I sneak moments during naptimes or while my kids entertain themselves for a full 2.5 seconds to write about the joys, successes, trials, and failures of life. I write because I love it. I write because I love to tell stories. I write because I like being able to share a humorous spin on life – even when it’s painful.
And I also write as a side business, because then I can buy the upgraded zoo membership with unlimited train and carousel rides. I write for my own business (Cute Compression Socks) as well as others’ businesses (Protean Writer). My writing has been featured on The Huffington Post, Money Saving Mom, and the International Blogger’s Association.
Again, I’m glad you’re here. 🙂
If you haven’t been here before, head on over to the “New? Start Here” page next. Because that way you’ll get the answer to the oh-so-commonly-asked question of “What the heck does protean mean, anyway?” And there you can also see the top 10 favorite posts as picked by other readers.
Thanks for stopping by, y’all. I’ll see ya ’round.
